The new project, titled <em>&#8220;Building bridges between fertility patients, clinics and regulators: A collaborative approach&#8221;<\/em> aims to develop collaborative relationships among academics, fertility patients, professionals and policymakers, by organising a series of workshops.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>In partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.progress.org.uk\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.progress.org.uk\/\">Progress Educational Trust<\/a> (PET), the Fellowship draws on previous research to contribute to the building of bridges between fertility patients, clinics and regulators. Through a collaborative approach, this project will address the ongoing challenges of how best to include, learn from and integrate the experiences of fertility patients and professionals, while engaging with and supporting the ongoing work of policymakers.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>PAST EVENTS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Workshop with the <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Progress Educational Trust<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In January 2023 our third workshop for professionals<em>&nbsp;<\/em>took place in collaboration with the Progress Educational Trust. In this workshop, Manuela Perrotta and Josie Hamper presented research findings on how time-lapse videos of embryo development are shared with IVF patients. Participants included fertility consultants, gynaecologists, embryologists, nurses and counsellors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">26 January 2022: <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Adding Up What We Know: A Global Perspective on Fertility Treatment Add-Ons<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A free, online event organised in collaboration with the Progress Educational Trust (PET). For further details, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/pet.secure.force.com\/PETEvents\/PETEvent_Overview?id=a2g4J000000tmbj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PET&#8217;s events page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2-24 November 2021: <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">The IVF Experience<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Four one-hour workshops took place across November. These free workshops were designed for future, past and current IVF patients to participate in a conversation about fertility treatment, patient choice and decision-making, and embryo\/medical imaging in IVF. The research team also shared some research findings. Participants were invited to watch our three video animations in our exhibitor&#8217;s booth. This interactive workshop was entitled <em>The IVF Experience and Positive Outcomes: A Social Science Perspective <\/em>and it explored what positive outcomes mean for IVF patients and how these relate to issues of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read our report on the event <a href=\"https:\/\/remakingthehumanbody.sbm.qmul.ac.uk\/?p=414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>. This was a workshop designed for professionals working in the field of fertility treatment and participants included fertility consultants, gynaecologists, embryologists, nurses and counsellors. Read our report on the event <a href=\"https:\/\/remakingthehumanbody.sbm.qmul.ac.uk\/?p=428\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Online Panel Discussion: <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Visions of Reproduction&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Our first public engagement event took place in November 2020 after a series of cancellations earlier in the year. This online event was entitled <em>Visions of Reproduction: The Making and Meaning of Reproductive Imaging&nbsp;<\/em>and it brought together sociologists, historians and artists who spoke about their work on this theme.
